By devine decree I was born an American. My business and lifestyle have allowed me to travel (many times) around the world. Therefore, my opinion of America has evolved over time. As an imigrant family my forefathers moved to America at the request of the King of England. One served as the Govenor of New York and another was the Secretary of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. As a homeless boy of eleven I learned everything in America should be earned.
Everyone has a chance to become or do anything they want. We can accomplish any goal to which we are solidly committed. The many freedoms we enjoy allow us to dream, build and accomplish our goals.
I served in the Air Force and fought in Vietnam for America because my country needed me to do so. One of my three sons and one of my three daughters served and fought for the very freedom that America provides all of us. My son Doug, retired from the Army. We (my family) have followed in the footsteps of our forefathers that have participated in every major war including our country’s independence.
America requires that we ALL participate in the process of voting, serving or fighting for our way of life. All over the world we see examples of what happens when you don’t participate in the process.
I believe that this country can, does and will continue to stand as a beacon of hope for people all over the world. My country [America] is not perfect. It is better than any other government because we must all be our country’s keeper.
My view is that I’m blessed, fortunate and experienced enough to know that there is NO other country better than America.
Please God, continue to bless America, the land and people I love.
