As our country continues to mature and we recognize that the past is just that, the past, we will better understand the choices we now have with alternative fuels including:
- Electric / Gas (Petroleum)
- Natural Gas
- Oil (Diesel and Gas)
and . . . new ideas are coming about all the time.
As we see electric vehicles maturing in both design and function, we’ll see more acceptance. While this doesn’t lower their carbon footprint to zero, it does reduce our dependence on foreign oil and conserve what we have for the future.
Electric cars will still depend on coal fired power generation equipment across the country.
So, our carbon footprint may not be reduced but it is certain that as more electric cars become available their cost will continue to decline. The cost of operation is currently less per mile that other alternative sources including Solar. Solar has a long way to go before it’s consumer ready.
Prediction: Alcohol based engines are smaller, lighter, stronger, more hp and inexpensive to operate. Assuming the industry can attract Beyond Venture Management, Angel or Venture Capital resources, this will be a very exciting market to see develop over the next 10 to 15 years.
