The EJ and HH Memorial Library

Since I've retired, I've turned to creative writing as an outlet. In fact, it's become my passion. Thanks for coming by. We hope to see you again.

Please be nice to others in the library. Shhhhh!

OVERVIEW

Irma is without a doubt, one of the most interesting people you'll ever meet. We meet her and begin to see from the beginning that she's not wrong. She's interesting. It's about privilege, success, business, friendship, and love. Join us.

OVERVIEW

I was a homeless kid until I was about 12. People said, "You're nothing but poor white trash. You'll always be poor.

At nine and a half, I was already 5'7". The area we lived in was Hispanic. All the kids in school were Hispanic. They wanted a big white kid in their gang. No, thank you.

When I went to middle school, all the kids were African American. There was a lot of pressure on me to join a gang and sell pot to adults. I was already 5'10" and weighed 225 pounds.

I wrote this book to prove to others and my family that we don't have to accept our circumstances. It can change.

All the experiences I write about have typically never happened to the average man. They did to me.

For example, my flight was hijacked out of Kuwait to Abu Dhabi in 1983. There are so many more.

OVERVIEW

This work of fiction is based on many men I knew in Vietnam and who, like me, returned to civilian life. The difference here is that Taylor is a young man who believes in himself and others.

The book details the day he returned to the end of his first year as a civilian. Taylor tracks every blessing she receives that first year. In fact, they are all listed in the back of the book, along with the page number that describes the blessing.

If you're looking for a confidence boost, Taylor's story has enough to give you the courage to lead a life that others will say was a life well lived.

Meet Taylor Richards, one of a kind among men.

OVERVIEW

This work of fiction is dedicated to the men, women, and families of immigrants who have been coming across our borders since Spain no longer owned the West in the United States. Becoming several states, there were always Mexicans coming to America.

This small family started with a dad, mom, and Carlo fleeing from the Cartel. Just after they crossed the border, three shots rang out. One landed in the heart of the father. The mother was shot in the shoulder, and Carlo was hit in the calf.

A Mexican family that has lived in America found Carlo and his Mom. Once well, Carlo's mom helped out at the shelter where she met Carl Chappman. He was an oil salesman. They fell in love.

This is the story of how Carlo was adopted by a gringo dad, sent to the best schools, and gave back to America and the world. This is one family story you'll be talking about for a long time.

OVERVIEW

I'm the father of six children. Now imagine that it's bedtime, and each of the children wants me to read to them. Stopping was the hard part.

More daddy, more. I was as tired as they should be, but each night seemed to have a long story time.

I decided to write a series of three books containing thirty-one stories, each two pages long. I'm sorry, Katy, the story is over. We can do another tomorrow night.

Some of the topics are listed on the cover. In honesty, I don't think every story will be age-appropriate.

These are my first attempt at "Story Books." I have some ideas for small children. I'm looking for an illustrator and hope to release the books at the end of 2023.
